She is a graduate of Ursuline High School in the city of Youngstown and went on to receive her Bachelor’s of Science degree at Youngstown State University. Joanne continued her studies at the University of Pittsburgh, where she received her Master’s of Library Science and Kent State University, where she completed the course work for a Master’s in Art History. Joanne spent the early years of her career as a librarian at the Youngstown Public Library. Later, she accepted a position at Walsh University in Canton, Ohio as a librarian and adjunct art history instructor.

During her career, she was fortunate enough to accompany groups of students on study abroad programs in Italy to study art history on site. Joanne’s love of art stems from a very young age and she has been painting off and on her entire lifetime. After retiring from Walsh University, Joanne moved back to the city of Pittsburgh, which she always loved and continued her painting with a group of local artists. She continues as a student and a painter of landscapes and village scenes, still lives to portraits and sketches, and has happily shared her work with buyers in the region.
